Why we go...

Our God is absolutely obsessed with Himself. If you think about it, He should be. He is the Supreme Being in the Universe, the Most Glorious to ever exist, and the Creator and Ruler of all that is. His power and majesty are unfathomable. His excellence and holiness are indescribable. And His love... His love endures forever. He deserves to be worshipped by every tongue. He deserves to be honored by the bending of every knee. This is His chief desire and concern.

Unfortunately, many do not know of the greatness of our God. They do not know of His infinite grace that caused Him to step out of His glory in Heaven and wrap Himself in flesh, so that He could become our great High Priest and our Ultimate Redeemer. His mind-boggling sacrifice on the cross of calvary is the central moment in human history. In that moment He accomplished our eternal salvation, and for this He deserves our everlasting praise. But many do not know this, and so they do not exalt Him as God, nor give thanks.

The Lord of Heaven is worthy to worshipped by all creation, with all the passion and fervor they have to offer. It is because of this that we do missions. Our goal through this mission trip to Ukraine is to bring people to an understanding of the greatness of God, specifically as it is revealed in the substitutionary death of Jesus on the cross, so that more people will join the ever-growing throng of worshippers of the Living God. For who is more worthy than Him?

Because our goal is to add to the multitude of God-worshippers, we rest in the fact that we will have the power of God working with us. His glory is His primary interest, after all.

This blog will chronicle the story of our trip to Ukraine that begins July 4. We ask two things of the readers: 1) That you would labor with us in prayer. Colossians 4:2-4 is a good place to look if you want ideas for how to pray. We will also frequently update with prayer requests for you to take before the Throne of Grace. 2) Leave comments with encouraging messages for the team, and any Scripture that God puts on your heart. It is such a blessing to know that our fellow workers in Christ in the States are praying for us, as we seek to serve Him and do all things to the praise of His glorious grace.
